Ruby Tuesday on Saturday afternoon...
...it was a sad day yesterday, but it's a good day now: when I checked the mail, shortly after Trish called from work, I found a notice in my mailbox, something about her elderly grandmother, Ruby. Since it said "commemoration", I figured maybe it was an invitation to a funeral.
I went thru my daily business, mostly trying to FTP with the firewall down, then sat my ass in front of the idiot box, tuned to Sci-fi, trying to find the debut of Painkiller Jame -- later on, in the evening, I realized it's on Fridays.
Then, when Trish came home, & we finally figure out what the card actually meant, Trish freaked out -- we couldn't possibly take 2 trips so closely together; Jim, can I cash in the tickets so we can go see my dad?; no, Trish, we don't have the money.
Finally, she napped a little while I played the keyboard. When I became bored with that, I went to Albertson's for another 20 buckadingdongs of groceries.
When I Kame home, Karen had Kalled, & Trish felt much better, so I went ahead & fixed supper -- marinated pork cutlets, rice pilaf w/ mushroom soup, & broccoli. Trish blew off her daily chore, fixed some quesadillas from the shells & cheese I bought her a couple days ago. Her mom called about the time we were preparing for bed. Together we convinced Trish that it'd be unwise to change our plans on such abrupt notice.
Then we turned Toastie Bear all the way down & snuggled under Lucy's blanket; tra-la for the Mystery Cults!
